I know there’s people who truly hate Halloween, but I just can’t figure out why! It’s so much fun and so exciting every single year.  This morning Aubrey had a little festive breakfast that included ghost pancakes and fruit (oranges are her new fav!) and she loved it!

My poor little love had a bad cold all week, and, while she is slowly getting better, she is definitely not 100% yet.  Hopefully tomorrow morning she wakes up feeling better because having a sick baby is the worst!  She literally broke my heart into a million little pieces the other day when I walked in her room to get her out of bed in the morning and I asked her if she felt any better.  She replied (IN HER LITTLE CONGESTED VOICE) “Oh, I don’t know, mommy.” 😦 Can’t wait until this cold is gone!

All morning, we listened to the Halloween station on pandora, read all her Halloween books, watched Hocus Pocus and other favorites, and played outside with her costume on because she couldn’t wait to wear it!

Finally, it was time to go trick or treating!  I was so excited because I never got to take Aubrey before.  She was so cute holding my hand in her little kitty cat costume, walking from house to house.  She kept saying “okay, mommy! let’s go to the next house and get more candy!”  The people who had dogs outside would try to offer her candy and she would run right past them to pet their dog.  My little animal lover.  She only said trick or treat a few times, but she did say “Hi” a lot and she did say thank you a few times too.  I tried to remind her to say thank you to one neighbor, and she looked at him and said “You’re welcome!” Oh, Aubrey:)  After a little while, she wanted me to hold her instead of walk.  I guess she was getting tired and still wasn’t feeling well.  We headed home and she cried because she wanted to go to “just one more house!”  After a piece of candy and some relaxation on the couch with her mom mom, she was fine.  She must have been exhausted because she passed right out!

My brother in law and sister stopped by right before heading to a party.  He was a ghost and my sister was a Dunkin Donuts barrista.  So cute!

I love seeing everyone’s costumes, it’s one of my favorite things about Halloween.  This year was so much fun, and I already can’t wait for next year!! 🙂

This weekend is Halloween!!!!! One of my favorites (I say that about all holidays).  This year, Aubrey is dressing as Willow (our cat) and I decided to diy her costume since halloween costumes are so expensive.  I made her a black tutu with ribbon and tulle, and it was my first time making one.  I have to say, I am pretty happy with how it came out!  She’s going to wear black leggings and a black shirt, and some kitty cat ears and a tail that we bought.  She wouldn’t let me draw on whiskers for the pictures I took of her when we tried on her costume, but hopefully she will on Halloween before we go trick or treating!!!

We baked some Halloween cookies last week, and this week we need to carve our pumpkins but our costumes are ready and we are so excited! This year will be Aubrey’s first year trick or treating because the first year, she was three months old so we just visited family with her costume on and last year she was too shy, and cried when strangers talked to her.  This year, though, we think she will love it! Hopefully she does;)

We’re going to spend the rest of this week watching Hocus Pocus and all our other Halloween favorites.  Happy Halloween week!! 🙂

Fall is my FAVORITE! Everything about it….the weather, boots, scarves, leaves, the colors, Halloween, Thanksgiving, cozy sweaters, pumpkin spiced and apple flavored everything. I love it all!  So as soon as it started feeling like Fall we, got our boots on and went to the farm.

I am obsessed with this skirt from Target! As soon as I saw it in the store, I saw this outfit in my head so I grabbed the shirt too! And the boots from Old Navy make it even cuter! Aubrey is so obsessed with the farm animals, so we have been to tons of farms tons of times this year and I don’t mind one bit!

Last week, Jake’s sister and her family that Aubrey and I never met before came to visit from California.  It was so good getting to meet them, she has the sweetest little girls! And of course, it is always adorable to see Aubrey play with her cousins.  During a family picnic we had, his sister helped Aubrey decorate a pumpkin and I am such an emotional human being…I teared up like five times thinking about how special that is.  And watching them all play in the leaves at their grandma’s house was so sweet too.

And yesterday, my family and I went apple picking.  It was so much fun and I definitely want to start going every year.

Apple cider is amazing! If you follow me on instagram (lovelylittlehaven), you will most likely see the delicious apple desserts that we make with all the apples we picked.  Along with a bunch of pictures of the beautiful fall leaves;)

If it could be Fall forever, I would have no problem with that!

I got a little distracted and stopped writing for a few months, but some big things happened at the end of Summer.  Aubrey turned two and my other sister got married!  Now both of my sisters are married and it is so cute.  Cory’s wedding was so much fun, except for me being extremely nervous for my maid of honor speech all day.  I literally consumed so much alcohol to prepare for this speech, everyone knew I was so nervous and just kept handing it to me.  And I kept taking it;) Everyone kept telling me “You’re going to cry, just get over it and don’t be nervous!” and I responded by saying “I don’t think I’m going to cry actually, I don’t really show emotions in front of people like that.”  After cocktail hour, we all went into the reception room where Aubrey was screaming her head off because the dj was talking in the microphone and she thought he was yelling at her and the music was loud.  I wasn’t expecting to have to do my speech so soon after going in, so I took her into the other room so that she could calm down.  The next thing I know, my dad and jake are coming in and saying “you’re on!”.  Dazed and confused I went back into the room, took the microphone and (with a shaky/nervous voice) started reading my speech.  My first thought was thank god I am so drunk right now because everyone is staring at me and I feel so awkward.  And then I thought about how weird my voice sounds in a microphone.  I was doing good…until I saw my sister crying out of the corner of my eye.  Then I started crying. And I could hear Aubrey crying in the other room still.  And then I realized everyone in the room was crying.  So I think it went well?  Afterwards, the party started and it was so much fun! After all the beer, champagne, wine, and random drinks through out the day/night, finding the shuttle bus to take us to the hotel and getting to our room…with a two year old?! Accomplishment of the century.

The next morning? Not fun at all.  I need to remember that toddlers do not care if you’re hungover;)

Jake and I went to an Eagles preseason game the next day with his family.  But I still felt like shit from the day before and didn’t want anything to do with tailgating. And right when I was pulling into the parking lot, I hit a huge pothole and got a flat tire so that sucked.

Aubrey turned 2 July 22!  I can’t believe she is 2 already.  She is so smart and sweet, and I am so thankful that I get to be her mommy.  We celebrated with a circus themed party, complete with popcorn and cotton candy machines and a bounce house!

Such a fun day celebrating our little love with family!

We took the rest of the summer easy and did fun things outside.  We went to the zoo and fed some giraffes. I turned 22, and then before we knew it…Fall was here! And that’s okay because, fall is the best season.  What a crazy and fun summer with so many memories<3

It’s been pretty busy around here lately, and it’s going to be busy all summer long until the end of August.  Last week, Aubrey and I went to my cousin’s house to babysit her son for the day.  In the evening, we celebrated my mom’s birthday.  The entire rest of the week consisted of cleaning and preparing for the wedding, which was on Saturday.

Thursday was the rehearsal dinner and on Friday my mom, sisters, and I got our nails done together and did some last minute things to get ready.  Friday night, I started realizing that my big sister is really getting married and got a tad bit emotional.  Then again, who couldn’t get emotional after being around my mom and sister who hugged and cried about a million times that day;) Actually, it was really sweet and made me think of how it’s going to be when Aubrey is getting married.  Ugh.  And then Saturday morning came along, and we woke up extra early and got ready.  We had breakfast and mimosas while we got our hair and make up done. After taking pictures with the photographer, our ride arrived and we headed to the church.

Let’s please all cry at the pictures of Laura and my dad walking down the aisle.  It was the only time I cried the whole day, father daughter things make me cry all the time.  I literally cry when Jake and Aubrey do cute things together. I’m not emotional.

The reception was so much fun, once Aubrey finally calmed down and got used to all the noise.  She hates crowds and loud sounds, so this was pretty much her worst nightmare.  But after a while, she overcame her fear and was dancing and playing and having just as much fun as everyone else!  It was a beautiful day and I am so happy for my sister and brother-in-law! They are now on their honeymoon in the Dominican Republic, and we are now bunny-sitting for them.

And we’ve kind of just been relaxing by the pool here and there.  I have been trying to finish planning my sister’s bachelorette party that is coming up, and we have my cousin’s baby shower this weekend.  Aubrey’s birthday is next month  and I have started planning her party too.  Lots to do, can’t wait!

This weekend was so relaxing and much needed.  Saturday my mom took my sisters and I out for lunch and drinks.  It was kind of a celebration because one of my sisters is getting married in less than 2 weeks! I feel like they just got engaged, time is flying by.  I am so excited for her, and can’t wait to be apart of her special day.  I’m totally going to cry.

Saturday night her fiance was out for his bachelor party, so since we didn’t get to go out for drinks for Laura’s bachelorette party, we decided to go out.  My sisters and I met up with Jake, and Ryan (my other sister’s fiance) and her friend.  It was soooo much fun!

Sunday we spent time with Jake’s mom and then just relaxed at home and played outside.

And then Monday we spent the day in the pool just relaxing and trying not to get sunburn for the wedding! 😉

It was a really great weekend with family. We are so thankful for those who served our country and risked their lives in order for us to be free.

Jake and I celebrated our 3 year anniversary by staying home and working on his school work for his summer classes he’s taking.  So romantic, right?!  I think we both are good as far as going out and “acting our age” for now.  We can go back to having the lives of 60 year olds for a while;)

To end this post about our weekend that basically consisted of more pictures than actual words, here are some adorable pictures of Aubrey from today.  She is getting so big.  I can’t believe she will be 2 soon.  I have to admit, I get a little teary eyed when I realize how fast she is growing up.  But at the same time, hearing her put sentences together and learn new skills is amazing.  I am so blessed to be her mommy.

This weekend was amazing.  The weather was just right for playing outside and taking pictures.  After breakfast on Saturday, Aubrey immediately ran to the door to go outside.  Her new thing is she knows how to melt my heart in order to get what she wants, and it is actually hilarious.  She will run to the door and say “Mommy, peas?(please) Outside?” and then she will come up to me and grab my hand and say “come on, mommy!” Her sweet little voice and the fact that she grabs my hand (when she used to refuse to hold anyone’s hand) gets me everytime and she knows it.  I had to laugh at the thought of me being wrapped around her little tiny finger….just like everyone else! 😉

After playing outside at the house and a quick trip to the park just so Jake and I could do a couple of laps around the track there, we took Aubrey to Valley Forge to run around and (of course) to take pictures. I love them!

Not pictured: Aubrey falling face first into a bundle of poison ivy and me pulling some tics off of myself and Aubrey.  We came home and got baths and all refreshed. Aubrey did not get poison ivy, but Jake has it so bad on his arms and the back of his neck.  He has been miserable because of how itchy it is.  We made a little paste with baking soda and vinegar because I saw it on Pinterest, and that burnt a lot but it relieved the itching and he actually said it felt good.  It did make the poison ivy look a lot worse as far as being a lot more red and bumpy, but I know the vinegar draws out the toxins so I’m sure that is why.  After a hot salt bath he was feeling a lot better.  Hopefully tomorrow his arms will look better and not drive him so crazy! I have never gotten poison ivy before and I am pretty sure that I can’t get it.  I’m a big hiker, and I have literally walked right through it unknowingly before and still never got it.  Maybe Aubrey can’t get it either?! I hope not because I would hate to see her have to deal with that, it looks so uncomfortable!

Saturday night after getting all cleaned up and eating dinner, we just watched movies together as a family and went to bed because the sun made us pretty tired.Aubrey also ate her first Popsicle!

Sunday was a little less warm but still beautiful, and we started the day with a trip to the park to walk a few miles.  My mom and I went shopping, and that was pretty much it as far as anything.  The next few weekends are going to be pretty busy, so it was nice to be very low key and enjoy the good weather and family!
